How do I make the switch?
Are you a Queensland Home Battery Scheme customer?
Most households aren’t getting anywhere near the full return from their battery. Ezi Power connects it to our smart energy cloud, so you earn a daily market credit, get a simple monthly rate, and never face bill shock again. You’ve made a smart investment with the Queensland Home Battery Scheme; now make it work harder for you.
Frequently asked questions
Do you accept all battery types?
We work with most major battery brands, but we don’t currently support Tesla Powerwall.
What happens if I use more power than my daily allowance?
Any usage above your daily allowance is simply charged at our excess rate of 33.7 cents per kWh (including GST). Your daily allowance doesn’t roll over to the next day, so if you have a big power day, the excess kicks in but you’ll never face mystery charges. We make sure everything is visible in your account.
What is the difference between the market participation credit and solar feed-in rate?
A feed-in tariff (FiT) is a payment or credit that you receive for excess electricity you have generated through your solar panels and sent back to the grid. Energy market participation earnings are from actively trading energy to get higher returns. Participation earnings are only available on larger batteries because they have the capacity to outweigh admin and technical costs to support trading.
How does the 50c per day market participation credit work?
When your battery is online and connected to the Ezi Power smart energy cloud, you earn 50 cents every day with no energy trading knowledge required. That’s up to $182 per year just for being connected.
Can I manually manage my energy trading?
Yes. Ezi Power can automate your energy trading by optimising when your battery charges and discharges to get you the best return. Or, if you want to stay hands-on, we give you the tools to manage your participation through the app. It’s your energy, so you’re always in control.
Do I already need to have a battery to join?
Our Ezi Bundles are designed for households that already have both solar panels and a battery installed. Current bundles require a minimum solar capacity of 6.6kW and a minimum battery capacity of 12kWh.
If you don’t have a battery yet, get in touch to see if we can assist with battery installation in your area. We want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to join the Ezi Power community and start getting value from solar as soon as possible.
What is a Virtual Power Plant?
Think of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) as a smart energy cloud. Instead of your solar and battery working just for your home, they connect with other households’ systems to form a shared, intelligent energy network. This is why we call it our “smart energy cloud”.
When energy demand on the grid spikes, the network can trade stored power back to the grid, and everyone who participates, including you, shares in the return.
